Trace Adkins, Tim McGraw To Take Part in CNN Gulf Relief Telethon

Trace Adkins and Tim McGraw will appear on CNN’s Larry King Live tonight at 8 PM/ET for a special two hour telethon, Disaster in the Gulf: How You Can Help. Trace and Tim will join celebrities Chelsea Handler, Sting, Cameron Diaz, Kathy Griffin, Justin Bieber, Alyssa Milano, Robert Redford, Harry Connick Jr., Jenny McCarthy, Melania Trump, Ivanka Trump, Aaron Neville, James Carville and Mary Matalin, Anderson Cooper, Lenny Kravitz, Edward James Olmos and more to raise funds for recovery efforts along the Gulf Coast.

Celebrities will talk with Larry King on set and via satellite and also help man the phone banks. Ryan Seacrest will be on hand to host a special online Social Suite where participants can use social media networks such as Facebook and Twitter to discuss the oil spill and relief efforts. Celebrities will post to Facebook and Twitter and use the hashtag #CNNHelpGulf.

Viewers who choose to donate can designate their funds to go to one of three charities: The United Way which is offering aid to families along the Gulf facing financial, educational or health-related problems as a result of the economic disruption from the oil spill, the National Wildlife Federation’s Gulf Oil Spill Restoration Fund supporting efforts to find and save wildlife affected by the oil spill and to restore their ecosystem or the Nature Conservancy’s Fund for Gulf Coast Restoration aiming to help long-term recovery of the Gulf.
