We’re eight weeks away from the start of the college football season and nine weeks away from the NFL’s kickoff. If you’re ready for some football, so are Hank Williams Jr. and Faith Hill.

Both of the country stars will be back in key positions, providing the theme music for “Monday Night Football” and “Sunday Night Football.” In fact, both of them have already shot the video packages.

Faith did her work at a studio in Hollywood, according to The Los Angeles Times, and the end product will feature a herd of NFL stars. Among the players who’ve shot footage are the Indianapolis Colts’ Peyton Manning, the Arizona Cardinals’ Larry Fitzgerald, the Chicago Bears’ Brian Urlacher and the Dallas Cowboys’ Tony Romo.

Hank did his filming last month at a Nashville soundstage. The University of Tennessee dance team figures in the mix, The Tennessean reported, as Bocephus continues his association with the NFL for an astonishing 22nd year.

At least one other country figure is doing football theme music this fall. Singer-songwriter Bridgette Tatum — the author of Jason Aldean’s hit “She’s Country” — shoots a video Thursday in Nashville for the the ACC football season. Her song “Loud” has been selected as the conference’s 2010 theme.
