Former USC player DeAngelo Mack writes a weekly diary for The State. Mack is in his first season in professional baseball with New York Yankees affiliate Charleston (Single-A).
The long road trip has finally ended, and we’re back in Charleston for a home game series. It feels really good to be back in Charleston, especially since we won’t have any more 14-hour bus rides to New Jersey.
In all, the trip wasn’t too bad because I feel like the team played pretty well and was focused each game. We split series with both Lakewood and Greensboro and hit the ball really well. It was nice playing in Lakewood because it wasn’t nearly as hot as Charleston, and they sold out almost every game.
This week we play our home series against the Greenville Drive (Red Sox), so it will be pretty nice to put on the Yankee pinstripes to play against Greenville.
