The Band Perry Sprints to the Finish

The Band Perry has turned a lot of heads with its Top 20 single “If I Die Young,” and it has plenty of fans looking for the group’s first album.
For now, the best you can do is to get TBP’s five-song EP, though you won’t have to wait too long for a full album. The Perrys’ self-titled debut is set for Oct. 12, and the 11 tracks will of course include their current ballad as well as the band’s first single, the bubbly “Hip To My Heart.” But the album should be fairly well-rounded.
“It’s gonna have so many different layers that someone, wherever they are in life, will definitely be able to connect,” Neil Perry promises. “We’ll have some hopeless-romantic songs and songs about independence and spitfire songs as well.”
“There’ll be a little bit of everything for folks on this album — and that’s what we wanted, lots of different flavors,” lead singer Kimberly Perry adds. “We didn’t want any two songs to say the same thing or feel the same way.”
The Band Perry is completely energized by its current success. The trio, which also includes bass player Reid Perry, already has touring plans set all the way through next summer, though they haven’t been made public yet. In the meantime, the album’s release is simply a marker as they continue their ongoing creative march.
“Literally as soon as Oct. 12 comes and goes,” Neil insists, “we’ll be writing the second album.”
