Josh Turner, Rascal Flatts bass player Jay DeMarcus and Montgomery Gentry’s Eddie Montgomery all have reason for joy in the holiday season.

Two of them welcomed babies this week, and Eddie came out OK after a surgery that probably made him a little nervous.

Here’s what’s up for several of country’s best-known personalities:

• Jay and his wife, Allison DeMarcus, welcomed a daughter — Madeline Leigh DeMarcus — at 4:49 Friday afternoon. She weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces, according to a Tweet Jay sent out Saturday. With Madeline’s arrival, all three Rascal Flatts band members are now daddies.

• Eddie went through surgery this week for prostate cancer. He’s been told by his doctor that no additional treatment is expected. So how is Eddie feeling about it? This Tweet tells it all: “I’m so happy I’m about reAdy to go streaking threw the snow!!!”

• Josh’s wife, Jennifer, delivered the couple’s third son on Monday. Named Crawford Marion Turner, he weighed in at 6 pounds, 15 ounces at a Nashville hospital. “Jennifer and I are overjoyed at Marion’s arrival,” Josh says. “He’s a strong, handsome little boy with a resilient spirit. Thanks to all of our family, friends and fans for their thoughts and prayers.”

• Keyboard player Bernie Herms and his wife, contemporary Christian singer Natalie Grant, also had a baby this week. Daughter Sadie Rose Herms was born Friday morning in Nashville. You might not know Bernie’s name, but it’s a good bet you’ve heard his work. He played piano for several years on Brad Paisley’s hits, including “Little Moments,” “I’m Gonna Miss Her (The Fishin’ Song)” and the apropos daddy song, “He Didn’t Have To Be.”
