This morning on her website, Miranda Lambert announced she was cancelling her Australian tour dates (opening for Alan Jackson) due to a respiratory infection. She was due to start the tour this Friday in Melbourne.
“I was very much looking forward to Australia with Alan Jackson and performing for all the music lovers down under,” said Miranda.
In her absence, Australian artists Jasmine Rae and McAlister Kemp will now fill the opening spot. Additionally, Australian country star John Williamson will replace Miranda at the CMC Rocks the Hunter this weekend.
Miranda’s mother, Bev, also posted this note on the website message board:
Dear Ran Fans:
With extreme disappointment over the cancellation of Miranda’s trip to Australia we ask that you join us in sending good wishes for Ran for a speedy recovery as we nurse her back to health. We will see to it that she receives the best of care to get her back on her feet and on tour as quickly as possible.
We are thankful for your concern and good thoughts for Ran and our family.
