Country Music Hall of Fame member Ferlin Husky has been admitted to the critical cardiac care unit at the Hendersonville Medical Center in Hendersonville, Tenn. Ferlin has been hospitalized before for heart and respiratory problems.

Ferlin is known as one of the first crossover stars of the music industry. In the 1950s and 60s, Ferlin had hit songs like “Gone” and “Wings of a Dove,” both of which remained atop the country charts for 10 weeks. He also helped spread country music’s appeal through appearances on numerous national television shows. Ferlin, now 85, was inducted into the Country Music Hall Of Fame last year along with Jimmy Dean, Billy Sherrill and Don Williams.
