When Randy Houser takes the stage in Isle of the Palms, South Carolina tonight, he will have nothing but his boots on – in a manner of speaking. Around 12:40 p.m. this afternoon, Randy’s crew noticed flames coming from the rear suite of his tour bus, sending thick, black smoke into the bus corridors and main cabin. Randy and his band and crew members were safely evacuated, but all of their gear, clothing and personal belongings were lost. Randy tweeted photos from the bus fire, including a picture to confirm that his boots had survived.
Although shaken up by the event, Randy sent a message to his manager that all were okay. “Fire is out,” Randy said. “Lost all my clothes. I’m pretty sad, but so thankful we all got off safely. That fire burned all through our home on wheels.”
The cause of the fire is unknown and it is unclear if the bus can be repaired. Fans who want to send words of support to Randy can do so by contacting him on Facebook or Twitter. Randy’s show, scheduled for tonight, will go on as planned.
Randy also shot a short video on his phone to share with fans as firefighters put out the flames. Check it out.
