New unemployment numbers were released this morning by the State Department of Employment and Workforce. The employment outlook improved in January for the 5th straight month down 4-tenths of a percent to 10.5 percent.
Statewide, an estimated 36-hundred residents went back to work, underscoring local improving numbers… with York County’s jobless rate dropping 7-tenths of a percent to 14.6 percent, Lancaster County’s jobless rate dropping 1-percent to 14.6 and Chester county’s jobless rate dropping slightly to 17.6 percent.
D-E-W officials say the results promising with the statewide job count increasing by nearly 14-thousand jobs over this time last year.
