Darius Rucker can add another chart-topping hit to his growing list of accolades. “This” has topped both the Billboard and MediaBase Country charts, making it Darius’ fifth No. 1 and the second No. 1 from his album Charleston SC, 1966.
“When we set out to record this album, we tried to choose songs that would mean something to the fans,” Darius said. “The single, “This,” was a song I never thought would be a single, but that just shows you the power of the fans because they were the ones requesting it, downloading it, and playing it for their friends. It’s their support that has made my career in country music possible.”
Darius will celebrate his latest No. 1 by making the New York City talk show rounds next week. You can catch him on the Today Show April 25 at 7 a.m. ET, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon that same night at 12:35/11:35 CT and The Wendy Williams Show on April 26 (check local listings). He will also perform a benefit concert that night, “Live From Home with Darius Rucker” at Housing Works’ Bookstore Café. A few tickets are still available and all proceeds will go towards Housing Works’ mission to end homelessness and AIDS. For more information and ticketing information, visit DariusRucker.com.
