Eric Church’s Carolina Goes Gold

Eric Church ^[2], the ACM New Solo Vocalist of the Year, has another reason to celebrate. His sophomore album, Carolina, has now sold more than 500,000 copies, to reach the RIAA’s golden milestone. The album includes hits “Smoke A Little Smoke” and “Love Your Love The Most,” both of which have been certified gold, having sold over 500,000 digital downloads each.

“It’s always been my goal to make records that are a complete body of work and not just random songs strung together—personally, I still love to put on a record and let it play top to bottom,” Eric said. “It is a dream come true that Carolina is now a gold record, and it is proof there are still people out there who think about music the same way I do. I owe this to every fan that told someone about this record, and to them I say ‘thank you!’”

The gold announcement comes just before the release of Eric’s third studio album, Chief, due in stores July 26. “Homeboy” is the first single from the upcoming album and is Eric’s fastest-rising single to date. You can catch Eric on tour with Jason Aldean ^[3] and Toby Keith ^[4] this summer and fall.
