If you’re attending this year’s CMA Music Festival and you’re coming to Nashville the weekend before, Joey + Rory have just the thing for you to do. The husband and wife duo have set Saturday, June 4, 2011 as the date for their 3rd Annual “Bib & Buckle Fest” Homecoming Concert, Food & Fun event.

What started as a casual gathering of fans and friends for an afternoon of music has turned into a full day of activities that includes a canoe float, games, karaoke, and of course, lots of music from 4 to 8 p.m. In years past, the performances have been held in the field behind their farmhouse in Pottsville, Tennessee. But this year, they’ve moved the stage from the field to their front porch! The audience will watch the show from the front yard.

The festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a five-mile canoe float down the Duck River. A limited number of canoes are available at River Rats Canoe Rental in Columbia, TN, so interested participants are encouraged to reserve a canoe early. Gates to the farm will open at 1:00 p.m., and volleyball, horseshoes, cornhole toss and kids’ fun and games will run until 3 p.m. Have a favorite Joey+Rory song you like to sing? Karaoke will begin on the stage at 3 p.m.  Joey+Rory will be signing autographs and taking pictures in the merchandise booth from 3 to 4 p.m.

“Each year we put on the festival, it grows and becomes even more fun than the last,” said Joey. Rory adds, “we travel, play shows and meet fans all year long in their communities around the country. This is a chance for fans to come and be a part of ours.”

Live music begins at 4 p.m., when Joey+Rory’s daughter Heidi Feek takes the stage to perform original songs. At 4:45, Rory will join three other hit songwriter friends for a traditional “in-the-round,” performing and sharing stories behind hit songs they’ve written. There will be a raffle and other prizes will be given away from sponsors such as Roper, Silpada and others at 6 p.m., and Joey+Rory will take the stage for a performance with their band at 6:30 p.m.

A mobile diner will be on site, offering simple hamburger and hot dog fare at old-time prices, and Marcy Jo’s Mealhouse, which is owned by Joey (and Rory’s sister Marcy), will be offering homemade desserts. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, sun screen and anything else necessary to enjoy a fun-filled day in the sun.

Fans are also strongly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Due to the limited size of the parking area and lawn chair seating in the field, a maximum of 1,500 tickets will be available. When that number of tickets is sold, no more will be available online or at the gate.

Advance tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids under 12 and can be purchased online here or at Marcy Jo’s Mealhouse, 4205 Highway 431 Columbia, TN. The phone number is (931) 380-0968. Tickets will be available at the gate, unless the event is sold out, for $25 for adults and $15 for kids under 12 for cash only. The rain date for Bib & Buckle Fest is Sunday, June 5, 2011.
