Steve Azar’s “Soldier Song” will be a part of several Memorial Day tributes honoring our nation’s service men and women. The track, written by Steve, reflects on the moments when a soldier returns home from war. Available on iTunes now, a portion of the proceeds will go to Jared Allen’s Home 4 Wounded Warriors, an organization that builds handicap-accessible homes for injured U.S. military veterans.

“Soldier Song” will play during a segment on Fox News Network’s Special Report with Bret Baier on May 30 at 6 p.m. The segment will honor soldiers who have suffered physical and mental wounds from active duty. It will also play during several tributes in Steve’s home state of Mississippi, including the syndicated radio show, Super Talk MS and various programs airing on ABC affiliates, WDAM 7, WLBT 3 and CBS’ WXVT 15.

Steve was inspired to write the song while on the road with rock legend Bob Seger. After visiting the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C., Steve’s attention turned to how soldiers coped with being away from loved ones, wondering when they’d be reunited as a family.
