Josh Turner is set to headline ‘After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit Concert with Josh Turner’ on July 14 in Ringgold, Georgia. The concert will benefit the students and community of Ringgold who were struck by an F-4 tornado on April 27. Proceeds from the concert will be split evenly between the Ringgold Band and the Ringgold athletic fund.
The tornado destroyed about 50% of Ringgold’s businesses, homes and places of worship and took the lives of nine people, two of which were students from Ringgold High School. The high school and middle school both suffered major damage. While insurance will cover the cost of repairs to the schools, there is no extra money to pay for the athletic facilities and equipment and band equipment lost in the storm.
Getting these programs back up and running is something close to Josh’s heart. He created The Josh Turner Scholarship Fund to assist students interested in pursuing a career in arts and music since he, as a high school student, had little access to music or musical education programs.
Tickets are on sale starting today, June 24 and can be found at the WUSY/Chattanooga website www.us101country.com and at any Northwest Georgia Bank branch in the Chattanooga area as well as online at www.etix.com.
