Men’s Health magazine has named Kenny Chesney as the fittest man in country music. After reading the article, it is a hard claim to argue with as Kenny and his trainer, Daniel Meng, break down his fitness routine. Kenny told the magazine he trains to be able to put on the high energy shows he’s known for and the keys to his fitness are vision and focus.
“I have to train to do my show the way I want to do it,” Kenny said. “I’m not one of these guys that just stands there behind the microphone. I work really hard to give the fans the best possible concert.”
One of Kenny’s secrets to gaining his well-toned frame is never missing a workout. Even with a hectic schedule that sometimes cuts workout time thin, Kenny still does a quick session. “You’d be amazed at what you can do in a short amount of time to get a burn in, to feel healthier, to feel like you’re not staying the same,” he said.
Diet wise, Kenny tells Men’s Health he keeps it pretty healthy. He starts his day with a breakfast of scrambled egg whites, grilled chicken, tomato slices and a whole wheat bagel. For a snack, he usually grabs a handful of grapes. But he also allows himself a cheat day. “If I want a chocolate-covered double cheeseburger, I’ll eat it,” he said.
