Ed. note: Whether you’re in Nashville for the CMA Music Festival or you’re stuck at home, we thought you might like to know what GAC host Suzanne Alexander is up to this week! We asked Suzanne to keep a ”CMA Music Festival Diary” so you could get an idea of what her week will be like. Enjoy!

Another Country Weekly Fashion Show and Concert has wrapped up! Tuesday night was the fifth year and the fourth time I was able to emcee the show. Every year Country Weekly has set me up with someone fun to cohost with — and I’ve worked alongside some fun people. This year my partner in crime was none other than Laura Bell Bundy, who hosted the show. Click HERE to see all the great photos from the night!

I was on my toes because, for those of you who know Laura Bell, she has many different characters she acts out through her web series “Cooter County.” Even though she stayed Laura Bell the whole night, every once in a while she broke into one of those women she plays! LBB also took the stage to perform some of her new songs from her next studio album she’s working on. She is one great entertainer!

Steel Magnolia — a.k.a. Joshua Scott Jones and Meghan Linsey – kicked off the night with a performance. And they are soooo good together. They also walked the catwalk, strutting their stuff in clothing from Wrangler to Roper to Flavour, a store in Nashville. I tried to get Joshua to kind of “model out” for the crowd, but he’s one shy guy.

Stealing Angels on the other hand..not so shy! Tayla did a cartwheel right down the middle of the catwalk. They won for most creative modeling! Ty Herndon was gorgeous as always. Burns & Poe were naturals. Everyone was great!

Joe Nichols did the honor of closing the show. His latest single is called “Take It Off” – but unfortunately for his female fans, Joe left it on. But he still played a knockout set!

One of the challenges of CMA Music Fest is staying cool…and look for me to be attempting that throughout the entire festival! I do get a bit of time inside with some nice air conditioning as I host Gary Allan’s Fan Club Party aboard the General Jackson today. So thank you to Gary for asking and giving me a bit of reprieve from the heat!

But it won’t last long. I’ll be playing the City of Hope Celebrity Softball game on Saturday morning, sweating it out with the fans and artists. I tried to tell ‘em that I’m afraid of the softball but …here I go. I’m actually looking forward to it. I haven’t played the event in 9 years!

On Sunday I’m looking forward to spending time meeting GAC viewers at the GAC Booth at 10a.m. I’ll be chatting and signing, taking pics — so c’mon down if you can. Then I’m off to Riverstages, where I’ll be hosting the stage from 2-6 p.m. It’s gonna be hot — and I mean when it comes to the artists on stage – from Josh Kelley to Terri Clark.

It’s gonna be a fun week! Just load up on water , sunscreen and wear a big hat to shade yourself from the sun- and get ready to have some fun! See you at the Festival!
