Josh Turner’s “After The Storm: Coming Together Benefit Concert With Josh Turner” raised over $150,000 for the schools of Ringgold, GA that were devastated on April 27 by a tornado. All proceeds from will be split evenly between the Ringgold Band and the Ringgold athletic fund. Josh was able to tour the damaged facilities before the event.
“Anytime you can come together as a community to help lift each other up, it’s a good day,” Gator Harrison, Operations Manager/Program Director of WUSY said. “But when you can accomplish something of this magnitude as a team in these uncertain times, it really shows the true meaning of family.”
The tornado destroyed about 50 percent of Ringgold’s businesses, homes and places of worship. Nine people died as a result of the storm, including two students from Ringgold High School. Both the high school and middle school suffered major damage. While insurance is paying to repair the structural damage to the school, there was no money to pay for the athletic facilities and equipment and band equipment lost in the storm.
Josh dedicated his song “The Answer” to the Ringgold residents who lost their lives during the tornado.
