400 bicyclists rolling through Rock Hill

Rock Hill, SC — Dozens of bicyclists riding 16-hundred miles in 22 days to raise money for the families who lost more than 400 firefighters and police during 9-11 stopped in Rock Hill Tuesday evening.  U-S Navy veteran Leonard Farrington was among those who greeted the riders.

Farrington has waved the American flag at least twice on an I-77 overpass on the anniversary of the terrorist attacks.  The 89-year-old Rock Hill resident still has anger toward the attackers and those who planned the deadly strikes.

{0830-Farrington-A} :19 Q-killed for nothing.

The local chapter of Rolling Thunder will take 50 American flags to strategic points in Rock Hill… Fort Mill and Tega Cay for display on the 10th anniversary of the attacks September 11th.

The riders will symbolically accept Farrington’s flag the day before.  Meanwhile… the Brotherhood Ride as it’s called will end at Ground Zero in New York City for the tenth anniversary of the tragedy.
