Secretary of State Mark Hammond’s office has formally subpoenaed the banking records of the County’s Cultural & Heritage Museums. The request follows the failed land deal between developers who were set to build a new museum on the Catawba River that fell through three years ago.
The Secretary of State’s office said the inquiry comes from complaints and this is not an official investigation — just an attempt to learn more information about the issue.
