Country’s biggest stars are reacting to yesterday’s announcement of the 45th Annual CMA Awards [1] nominees. Taylor Swift, [2] Blake Shelton [3], Brad Paisley [4] and Jason Aldean [5] lead the way with five nominations each. Taylor took to Twitter [6] to thank both her fans and the CMA. “Thanks to you guys and the CMA voters, we got 5 CMA NOMINATIONS THIS MORNING!!! I am flipping out!!!” she said.

Miranda Lambert [7] was one of the first artists to express her excitement. She too used Twitter to celebrate her nominations for Female Vocalist of the Year and Musical Event of the year, as well as to congratulate hubby Blake. “Yay!!!! Nom’s Female and collaboration with 2 of my hero’s!!!! Thanks CMA’s. And congrats to my hubby for dominating!!!!:)” she tweeted. [8]

Blake, ever the king of Twitter, followed up with a celebratory tweet of his own. “Wow!!! Five CMA nominations?!!!!! No way… So this is what it’s like to be Miranda Lambert….” he wrote [9].

Luke Bryan, [10] nominated for New Artist, reacted to the news from his Nashville home. “I am so fired up about the nomination for CMA New Artist!” he said. “These moments are life changing and I am very thankful to have this opportunity to represent the future of our format along with the other four nominees who I not only consider my peers, but my friends as well.”

Luke’s fellow nominee in the New Artist category, Eric Church [11], doesn’t look at awards a mark of success but is still grateful for the recognition. “Though I’ve tried to make my career not just about winning awards, it’s always great to be recognized, and I’m especially honored in this case because the CMA voting members are my peers,” Eric said. “It’s always really rewarding when other people who also do this for a living acknowledge what you’re doing.”

Chris Young, [12] another nominee in the New Artist category, isn’t much of a morning person but took to his Facebook [13] and Twitter [14] to announce he didn’t mind the early wakeup call. “Literally got woken up by my phone ringing,” he wrote. “Not a morning person. But then I found out I’m nominated for CMA New Artist. So I was OK with it.”

Little Big Town [15], nominated for Vocal Group of the Year, also expressed their gratitude via social media. “We are honored and excited to be nominated for CMA Vocal Group of the Year. Thank you!” they tweeted [16].

Keith Urban [17], who is up for Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist, used the word ‘euphoric’ to describe his nominations in a tweet [18] sent shortly after he received the news. “Crazy cool CMA noms this morning! It blows my mind how sweet they are when we get them. I’m euphoric and moved! Thank you. Thank you,” he said.

Montgomery Gentry [19] were on their way to Charlotte to help WKKT-FM’s Paul Schadt celebrate 30 years in Charlotte radio when they learned they were nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year. “You know, this never gets old,” Troy Gentry said. “We can’t thank country radio and the music industry enough for keeping our name in the hat with some incredible artists.”

Matraca Berg, co-writer of Kenny Chesney’s [20]“You and Tequila” which is nominated for Musical Event of the Year, never hoped for a nomination. “CMA nominations, that’s not something you hope for, you just dream and cross your fingers,” she said.

Sara Evans [21] received two CMA nominations yesterday for Female Vocalist of the Year and Single of the Year for her No. 1 hit, “A Little Bit Stronger.”

“I am thrilled beyond words to be nominated for ‘Female Vocalist’ and ‘Single of the Year’,” exclaimed Sara. “After taking a little break, to come back and have the kind of year that I’ve had is amazing!! I’m so grateful and blessed and happy! I’m so thankful to God!”

The CMA Awards will air live on ABC on November 9 at 8/7 CT. Carrie Underwood [22] and Brad Paisley [4] will return as co-hosts.
