It has been a year ago this month since The Band Perry released their debut album, which spawned the CMA-nominated hit “If I Die Young.” The fourth single from the album, “All Your Life,” is making its way up the charts. Fans are eager to get their hands on the next TBP album, but the sibling trio is taking their time to get things just right.
“The recording process for our first album took about a year to complete.” Kimberly Perry said. “At least for the ten tracks and then we had the eleventh track that we recorded, literally, about three days before the deadline to turn in the album so that we could have it out.”
Part of the reason they went to the deadline on their first album is they like to procrastinate. “We’re kind of creative procrastinators in The Band Perry,” Kimberly said. “We always wait until the eleventh hour to close out the creative process, but we learned a lot in that year over the span of time that we were recording.”
The band has been writing for the next album and will likely have it out to fans sometime in 2012. They have been announced as performers at this year’s CMA Music Awards, which will air November 9 on ABC at 8/7 CT.
