Comporium contributes $200k towards economic development project

Economic development leaders in York County plan to use contributions from two area businesses to attract more industry to the area.

Wednesday afternoon, Comporium Communications announced their 200-thousand-dollar contribution towards the 1.4-million dollar speculative building — through a special line in the state’s tax code.

The project is a 40-thousand square foot speculative building in the Antrim business park off Dave Lyle Blvd.

County Manager Jim Baker says the project is funded not only by Comporium, but a local electric utility.

The 1.4-million dollar figure also includes approximately 300-thousand dollars for land and aesthetic improvements.
