Huffmon defends Winthrop Poll after attacks from SCGOP

The director of the Winthrop University poll says the chairman of the South Carolina Republican Party is barking up the wrong tree if he believes that the most recent poll is highly questionable.

Scott Huffmon said on Wednesday’s edition of Straight Talk on WRHI that despite attacks from Matt Moore, the latest poll did NOT include biased questions about Governor Nikki Haley or anything else.

Huffmon says each poll question has to deal with just one issue, otherwise its methodology is flawed.  He says just about every poll draws some criticism.

Moore asked in a memo this week, “Do you honestly think Barack Obama is massively more popular in South Carolina than he is nationwide?” Huffmon responds:

Huffmon says the Winthrop poll is demographically identical to the known population of registered voters in South Carolina.
