Ex-pro baseball player shot to death, Lancaster man arrested

Police in Lancaster have identified the suspect in a deadly shooting this morning on North Market Street.

In a release this morning, police said that 36-year-old Derrick Lamont Mcilwain of Lancaster was arrested in the 2 a.m. shooting of 37-year-old Danny Clyburn Junior.

Clyburn was a former professional baseball player, who once played for the Baltimore Orioles and the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.

Witnesses say the two were arguing moments before shots were fired.

Mcilwain later turned himself into deputies at the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.
