Martina McBride released her first album 20 years ago. Since then, she’s had No. 1 songs and platinum albums, headlined her own tours, and won just about every major award she could win, including ACM Female Vocalist of the Year three times, for which she’s nominated again this year. With so many accomplishments under her belt, what does she hope the future holds?
“That’s a complicated question,” she said. “I mean the first thing that comes to mind is that I just hope that I get to keep doing this for a long time. I love to perform, I love to sing and make records and make music.”
While music is important to Martina, her family is her top priority. On a personal level, her goals for the future include just being present. “My oldest daughter is going to be going into college in a couple of years,” she said. “So I just hope I’m able to be there for them and help them anyway I can.”
Martina just released her latest single, “Marry Me,” a duet with Train’s Pat Monahan to radio. She recently wrapped up a set of tour dates with George Strait and will embark on a tour of theaters later this spring.
