Reese files sixth lawsuit against Knights’ uptown stadium

Charlotte attorney Jerry Reese filed his sixth lawsuit Monday in a North Carolina court in an attempt to build a new ballpark for the Charlotte Knights in the Queen City.

Charlotte Business Journal
Knights spokesman Tommy Viola said Tuesday that all five of Reese’s prior lawsuits — and the one filed Monday — are, “without merit” and those prior dismissals have been upheld by both the North Carolina Court of Appeals and the state supreme court.

Viola went on to say in a written release that the Knights have no intention of allowing Reese’s lawsuit to disrupt or delay the Knights move to Charlotte.

Developers are hoping to break ground on a new ballpark by October of this year and are setting their sights on a first pitch in October of 2014.
