Jake Owen, Pam Tillis, Darryl Worley and Heidi Newfield are among the artists who will perform at Bobby Pinson’s “Words For Warriors” to benefit Keep Warriors Outdoors. The acoustic concert will take place April 11 at Lucy’s Country Café in Nashville, which is owned by Bobby and his wife Lucy. Justin McBride, Trent Tomlinson, Andy Griggs, Rhett Akins and Aaron Tippin are also scheduled to perform.

Every Wednesday at Lucy’s Country Café, the restaurant hosts “Sing For Your Supper,” a night where patrons are serenaded by established and aspiring songwriters while dining on a southern-style meat-and-three buffet featuring a homemade family recipes passed down over three generations. Toby Keith, Chris Young, Lee Brice, Bridgett Tatum and the Warren Brothers are just some of the artists who have already played at Lucy’s.

“We hope this will become the first of many annual events at Lucy’s Country Café to support KWO initiatives,” Bobby said. “After seeing first-hand what the outdoor experience brings to life for our warriors, I knew that I needed to become involved in helping this particular charity grow. I’ve met, personally, those who have enjoyed the outdoor adventures, have seen where the money goes and witnessed the profound effect it has on the participants by supporting their mental health and helping their return to normalcy. It is life-changing.”

“Moved by the loss of a close friend in the war, I developed the organization to not only honor the memory of my friend, but to also support wounded warriors across the United States,” Kip West, founder of KWO, said. “Each year a new group of wounded warriors participates in multiple private hunting expeditions, fully funded by KWO. Sometimes returning to the simplest activities in life can bring the most joy, and that is what I aim to do for each and every warrior.”

Tickets for the event are $15 in advance and can be purchased at Blue Bar. Tickets are $20 at the gate, $15 with a military or student I.D. or with a Lucy’s Country Café receipt.
