Winthrop University Thursday officially introduced former Xavier and Wake Forest assistant Pat Kelsey as its new men’s head basketball coach. Winthrop President Anthony Di-Giorgio says it’s exciting to see enthusiasm 
return to the program.

Kelsey is the 6th coach in the history of the Eagles’ men’s basketball program.

Winthrop’s new men’s head baseball coach Pat Kelsey was introduced Thursday at the Winthrop Coliseum. Kelsey says his team will represent the passion the student body has for hoops. He says the Eagles will take on his personality.

Kelsey is a former assistant coach at Xavier and Wake Forest.
