Former Atlanta Braves slugger and two-time National League Most Valuable Player Dale Murphy was in Fort Mill Friday to sign autographs and throw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Charlotte Knights-Gwinett Braves game.
Murphy says he likes the progress Major League Baseball has made in fighting the use of steroids and other performance enhancing drugs.

He says his family knows probable Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney’s family and says the former Massachusetts governor has what it takes to be president.

Murphy is in his last year of eligibility for the Baseball Hall of Fame. He says there’s a spot somewhere for him, and he’ll be thankful if it happens.
