Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCreery & More to Play in City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge

Carrie Underwood, Scotty McCeery, Brantley Gilbert and Lauren Alaina are among the country stars and celebrities dusting off their cleats and getting in some batting practice  for this year’s City of Hope Celebrity Softball Challenge. The annual game pits the AfterMidnite With Blair Garner team against the Grand Ole Opry team to help raise funds to strike out cancer and will take place on June 9 in Nashville during CMA Music Festival.

Joining Carrie, Scotty, Brantley and Lauren on the ball field will be David Nail, James Otto, Robin Meade, Scott Hamilton, Chuck Wicks, Whitney Duncan, Bucky Covington, Sarah Darling, Billy Gilman, Kristen Kelly and Two Foot Fred. Storme Warren will serve as the game’s emcee.

All proceeds help fund cancer prevention and treatment programs. Last year’s game raised nearly $200,000 and was attended by more than 5,000 fans. The annual game has raised nearly $2 million dollars for City of Hope during its existence.
