Eric Church is celebrating his second No. 1 single. “Springsteen” topped the charts this week, following “Drink In My Hand,” Eric’s first career No. 1. Both songs were co-written by Eric. Besides topping the chart, “Springsteen” has also been certified platinum after selling over one million copies. His debut album, Sinners like Me, also reached gold status after selling more than 500,000 units.

Eric co-wrote “Springsteen” with bandmate Jeff Hyde, who also co-wrote the hit “Smoke A Little Smoke,” and songwriter Ryan Tyndell. The track appears on Eric’s critically-acclaimed Chief album which was produced by Jay Joyce and has earned 2012 ACM and GRAMMY nominations.

Eric’s The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour has sold over 450,000 tickets so far this year. Spin Magazine named the tour one of its Top 20 Tours of 2012 and his Chief album their top country album of 2011, saying “Church offers that rarest of combos — impeccable songwriting and musicianship, plus genuine ornery attitude, and his anthemic, Boss-inspired can of corn, ‘Springsteen,’ is the finest addition to the doomed exurban-bandana-romance catalog since Steve Earle’s I Feel Alright rebirth.”

Besides celebrating his second No. 1, Eric made his LP Field debut during CMA Music Festival on Saturday night. He recently announced the fall leg of his The Blood, Sweat & Beers Tour which will include special guests Justin Moore and Kip Moore.
