Huffmon: Affordable Care Act poorly explained by Democrats, GOP

Besides Democratic and Republican elected officials, political analysts are weighing in on the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upholds the constitutionality of President Obama’s health care reform plan.

Winthrop University political scientist Scott Huffmon said on Friday’s edition of Palmetto Mornings on WRHI that people love the components of the Affordable Care Act, but not the mandate.

Huffmon says the ruling will excite Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s base.

But Huffmon says the ruling won’t hurt the President’s chances at re-election as some might think.

Either way, Huffmon says that both the Republicans and Democrats have done a bad job at explaining the new law.
