Thieves nab $700 in valuables from cars in Rock Hill neighborhood

Authorities are investigating a string of car break-ins on Kallamaro Road and Merrie Meadow Court in Rock Hill Monday night.

Police reports released Tuesday show more than $700 in GPS units, cell phone chargers, iPods and headphones were stolen in seven different incidents.

The reports state that many of the cars broken into were unlocked at the time.

Rock Hill Police spokesman Lt. Brad Redfearn says this particular situation is all too familiar.

Redfearn says simple steps like locking your doors and securing valuables inside your home can greatly reduce the likelihood that thieves will target your car.
