Drug agents seize $100k worth of pot in Western York County

York County drug agents Tuesday seized $100,000 in marijuana from a hunt club.

An aerial eradication effort uncovered 42 plants that were between eight and ten feet tall in four growing fields off Huntington Farm Road in western York county.

This is not the first time authorities have come across a large stash of pot this summer. In July, 27-year-old Calvin Hoang was arrested after authorities say he was growing $200,000 worth of marijuana inside his Carnegie Estates home off Favorwood Drive.

Marvin Brown of the York County Multi-jurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit tells WRHI FBI drug agents tipped them off to Hoang’s suspected activities, and they compared power bills to neighbors — and found that this particular home was using five times the amount of power as residents next door.
