Edens Edge Takes Advice from George Lucas

Edens Edge finished their debut album well before it was released. While some artists may have taken the extra time to tweak the album and make last-minute changes, lead singer Hannah Blaylock relied on advice about the creative process she’d once heard from director George Lucas that gave her the peace of mind to leave the album alone.

“A creative person always has a challenge, and that is to not go back,” she said of his advice. “And when something is completed, put the pen down. It’s time to take a break and then start a new page. He said ‘Every time I finish a movie, the cast is connected so much better and it’s like the energy is so awesome and I want to go back and re-cut scenes, but then I realize when I do that, I don’t make ‘em better, I just make ‘em different.’”

Hannah and her bandmates are happy with their debut project — and Hannha’s happy she heard Mr. Lucas’ advice.

“I think we have taken the best stab we can at this record and honestly we could not be prouder, and that is an honest comment,” Hannah said. “I’m excited to move forward, and thank you George Lucas for giving me that piece of advice at this time in my life because it’s exactly when I needed to hear it.”

Edens Edge’s latest single, “Too Good To Be True,” is at radio. The group is currently on tour with Rascal Flatts.
