Hunter Hayes is celebrating his first-ever platinum record. His current single, “Wanted,” has sold more than one million copies and is now his first  Top 5 single. It’s the second single from his self-titled debut album.

“I cannot believe I’m celebrating a platinum single in the Top 5!” Hunter said. “I’ve been dreaming about what this would feel like my entire life…and huge thanks to country radio’s support and the best fans in the world, I now know that it feels better than I ever imagined. Thank you!”

Our own Suzanne Alexander recently sat down with Hunter to talk about the “crowd control” problems he’s been having at his shows — a good problem to have! Watch the video after the jump:

“Wanted” is also Top 20 in all genres on iTunes digital chart. To date, Hunter has sold a combined total of almost 2 million digital singles. His debut single, “Storm Warning,” is nearing gold status. Hunter will hit the road with Carrie Underwood on her Blown Away Tour this fall.
