New arcade, expanded stores coming to Rock Hill Galleria mall

Years of work and millions of dollars in renovating and redeveloping the Rock Hill Galleria Mall will soon be coming to fruition.

The mall’s parent company, Cypress Equities said Thursday a new tenant will open a restaurant, arcade, bar and bowling alley in the rear of the property by the end of this year.

Mall spokesman Michael Wheat tells WRHI that there’s also millions of dollars going into two anchor stores.

The JC Penny upgrades will soon be followed by a 6-million dollar renovation to the Belk store.

Wheat says the new arcade and family fun center will occupy the space most recently known as Famous Labels. It’s designed to attract almost everyone.

Wheat tells says the new anchor store is making many of the interior tenants quite happy.

The new arcade center will open later this fall with 64-thousand square feet of space devoted to family-friendly activities. The Belk upgrades are scheduled or completion next fall.
