Power restored to Dave Lyle Blvd. corridor

A late night circuit-breaker failure is to blame for a power outage that left 1,970 City of Rock Hill power customers without electricity Thursday, city officials say. 124 trouble calls were reported just before midnight.

The city’s power outage reporting system indicated the outages affected customers along Dave Lyle Blvd. between Red River Road and Hood Center Drive.

The outage not only affected homes and businesses, but traffic signals and streetlights as well. Local police were seen stationed at several major intersections, directing traffic as needed.

Power was restored just before 1 a.m. Friday.

The city’s electrical grid serves 34,906 homes and businesses.
