Echols Says Rock Hill Benefitted From DNC

Now that the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte is over, many people are curious about how Rock Hill businesses fared.  Mayor Doug Echols says he knows there were hotels and motels here that benefitted.

Echols says some of the late night restaurants and bars in Rock Hill probably saw some convention-goers,

especially if they were parts of hotels and extended their hours.

Echols says DNC staffers held sessions aimed at making it easier for local vendors to make connections during the convention.

Echols says he found it convenient to drive to Pineville and hop on the light rail train to get to uptown Charlotte.

Echols says he was bumped from being able to see President Obama’s acceptance speech in person when it was moved from Bank of America Stadium indoors to the Time Warner Cable Arena.
