Carrie Underwood & Luke Bryan Among AMA Award Nominees

The nominees for the all-genre, fan-voted American Music Awards have been announced and Carrie Underwood and Luke Bryan are tied for the most nominations for a country artist with two apiece. Carrie’s Blown Away  and Luke’s Tailgates & Tanlines album are both up for Favorite Country Album along with Lionel Richie’s country collaboration Tuskegee.

Carrie is also nominated for Favorite Country Female Artist alongside Taylor Swift and Miranda Lambert. Luke is up for Favorite Country Male Artist with Jason Aldean and Eric Church. Zac Brown Band, Lady Antebellum and Rascal Flatts are all nominated in the Favorite Country Group or Duo category.

Fans can place their votes for their favorite artists at amavote.com or AMA.abc.com. Leading up to the awards, Lance Bass, Kimberly Cole and Megan Turney will host a weekly web series, ‘AMAs On Demand,’ that will be available on YouTube and ABC.com.

Rihanna and Nicki Minaj lead the way for most nominations with four each. Justin Bieber and One Direction also saw multiple nominations and Kelly Clarkson secured two nominations of her own in the Favorite Female Pop/Rock Artist and Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist categories.

This year’s AMA Awards will take place live on ABC at 8/7 p.m. CT on November 18. This will mark the show’s 40th anniversary and the first show since the passing of Dick Clark, the show’s creator. Christina Aguilera is the first announced performer.
