With less than two weeks to go before the election, the two people vying for South Carolina’s Fifth Congressional District seat debated twice last night — once in Lancaster later in York- — and will face off a third time Wednesday morning.

Incumbent republican Mick Mulvaney and democratic challenger Joyce Knott had their first head-to-head meeting Tuesday that touched on jobs, taxes and healthcare.

Mulvaney, who beat longtime incumbent John Spratt in 2010, says this race is much more low-key than the once he was in two years ago.

Knott says she’s comfortable with the slower pace, saying there’s a lot less Tea Party influence on the candidates.

The two face off a third time later Wednesday at Nation Ford High School’s television news studios in conjunction with the Fort Mill Times.

The debate starts at 10 a.m. with S.C. House candidates Jeremy Walters and Ray Felder facing off followed by Mulvaney and Knott at 11. Watch the debate online at www.schsl.tv/nationford [2]. Questions can be submitted via Twitter to @FortMillTimes.
