Good Folks Luncheon brings in $70K for Boys and Girls Clubs of York Co.

The group known as the Good Folks of York County Wednesday generated about $70,000 for the Boys and Girls Clubs of York County, the  group selected as this year’s recipient of its fundraising luncheon.

More money is expected to come in.

2012 Good Folks Chairwoman Gina Guilliams says Boys and Girls Clubs executive director David Carriker told the group that it had transportation needs.

Carriker says the money from Good Folks will allow the Boys and Girls Clubs to purchase two reconditioned buses that would carry 40 to 60 passengers each.

He says the buses will be used to take more children out on field trips and make one trip to pick up students the school districts aren’t able to transport.
