Keith Urban and Taylor Swift were both recently nominated for Golden Globe Awards. Keith’s “For You,” featured in Act of Valor, and Taylor’s “Safe & Sound,” which she performed alongside The Civil Wars as part of the Hunger Games soundtrack, are up for Best Original Song. Keith’s wife Nicole Kidman received two nominations of her own.

“The most rewarding gift for me as a songwriter is knowing that the song has somehow made a connection,” Keith said. ”I’ve been fortunate and moved to hear firsthand how it has impacted others’ lives. For that, and for this nomination, I’m so very grateful and honored. To wake up to this news, as well as to Nic’s two nominations, is absolutely beautiful.  What a way to start the day!”

Taylor received the news on her 23rd birthday. “Best birthday surprise EVER-just found out that Safe&Sound is nominated for a GOLDEN GLOBE!! Thank you @goldenglobes and HFPA! #hungergames” she tweeted after receiving the news.

Other nominees for Best Original Song include “Not Running Anymore,” by Jon Bon Jovi, “Skyfall,” written by Adele and Paul Epworth and “Suddenly,” music by Claude-Michel Schonberg, lyrics by Schonberg and Alain Boublil from Les Miserables. The 70th Annual Golden Globes will air Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at 8p|7c on NBC.
