Kip Moore’s “Beer Money” video opens with a scene between Kip, playing a mechanic, and his boss who fires Kip for slacking on the job. His video boss is played by his real-life manager, Shawn McSpadden, and the pair didn’t have to go too far to create the tension they share in the scene.
“We bicker a lot with each other, so it kind of came natural to us,” Kip said. “We get along great, but he makes me mad sometimes so I just kind of carry that anger into that little scene.”

That scene wasn’t in the video’s original treatment though. Kip added it in, wanting a scene that reflected some of what he went through while chasing his music career.
“I thought about how I wanted the whole video to flow and the story, and at the end of it, I said, ‘Let’s go back and let’s do this opening scene like this,’ because that’s how so many of my jobs were,” he said. “I was always trying to write songs while I was at work or doing other songs, and I always had bosses getting on to me, especially the whole time I was here in Nashville. So, that was a very true scene to my coming through this town.”
“Beery Money” is in the Top 5 at radio. Kip will close out 2012 on tour with Eric Church before hitting the road with Brantley Gilbert in early 2013.
