Moody “very concerned” about recent rush of the Flu in Rock Hill Schools

The seasonal Flu appears to be taking its toll on area schools.

Rock Hill School District Three Superintendent Lynn Moody tells WRHI she is “very concerned” about the high number of teachers, administrators and students that are out sick with the virus.

Moody says while it is conceivable that if absentee rates get high enough, some schools may be closed, that’s not the case just yet.

And over Christmas break, Moody says every school in the district will undergo a thorough cleaning.

The Centers for Disease Control warns that pregnant women, children younger than five, adults over the age of 65 and people with chronic medical conditions are especially vulnerable to the virus.

Experts strongly suggest frequent hand washing, getting the annual flu virus, and if you are experiencing flu symptoms to stay home.
