South Carolina’s Clowney wins Hendricks Award

South Pointe High graduate Jadeveon Clowney was awarded today with the nation’s top award for the top college football defensive player.

Clowney, named this week to the all-SEC team, holds a school record at Carolina with 13 sacks and Wednesday, won the Ted Hendricks award as a sophomore.

In the Thanksgiving weekend game against Clemson, he set a record with 4.5 sacks in a single game.
