Carrie Underwood “Blown Away” By An Exciting 2012

Carrie Underwood was ‘blown away’ by an exciting 2012 that included a new album, headlining tour, hit songs and multiple media appearances. She played to more than half a million fans throughout her 62 show Blown Away Tour, leaving her as the top female country touring artist of the year according to Pollstar’s year-end chart. She also played her first shows in Australia and the U.K. selling out her concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall in just 90 minutes.

Carrie released her Blown Away album in May, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard country and all genre sales chart. The album spent seven weeks atop Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart in 2012 and ended the year ranked as the No 2 country album and the No. 7 album in all genres.

Blown Away was certified platinum and includes “Good Girl” and “Blown Away,” both platinum-certified singles. The songs collectively spent three weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard and Country Aircheck country airplay charts, more than any other female country artist in 2012. Carrie’s “Blown Away” video became a fan favorite on GAC’s Top 20 Country Countdown, spending 14 weeks of its 15 week run at No. 1.

Already a five-time GRAMMY winner, Carrie earned another GRAMMY nod for Best Country Solo Performance for “Blown Away” which is also up for Best Country Song for writers Josh Kear and Chris Tompkins. She picked up her seventh American Music Award as well as two American Country Awards.

On the media front, Carrie appeared on a number of daytime and late night talk shows as well as specials throughout the year. She also graced the covers of numerous magazines including Billboard, Glamour and SELF. She will kick off the second leg of her Blown Away Tour February 13 in Colorado  Springs. Her latest single, “Two Black Cadillacs,” is at radio now.
