The luck of two Rock Hill men ran out Sunday after officers tried to help them move a broken-down car out of the road.
23-year-old Dontavious Jones and 26-year-old Adrian Hayden were arrested after officers saw the two trying to push a 1996 Honda Accord off the side of Cherry Road near the Winthrop Commons shopping center. As police arrived, the two hopped back in the car. A police report says authorities immediately smelled marijuana.
Hayden told officers a fuse had blown in the car.
After a search, police recovered 29 grams of the drug stuffed in Jones’ waist and found $1,737.56 in cash stuffed in his pockets.
Another half-gram of the drug was found in Hayden’s pants.
Jones was charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute while Hayden was charged for driving under suspension and Possession of Marijuana.
