Witness: Man was standing next to warehouse minutes before it caught fire

The man who called 911 Tuesday night to report a devastating blaze at a Rock Hill warehouse on East White Street says he saw a man standing next to the building right before the fire started.

A Rock Hill Police report says a witness called authorities just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, later telling police a white man, 5-feet 9-inches tall and dressed in a black jacket and hoodie was standing next to the building minutes before the fire started.

Tucker told police man left walking down the train tracks adjacent to White Street.

Rock Hill Fire Battalion Chief Rusty Myers told WRHI late Tuesday the building was a total loss.

Wednesday morning, yellow tape surrounded the site of the fire.

Authorities say the case is active pending further investigation.
