York County Sheriff’s Deputies seized $15,000 in counterfeit iPhone cases Tuesday from a 16-year-old boy in Tega Cay.
York County Sheriffs’ Office spokesman Trent Faris says 283 cases and another 72 accessories were seized after the OtterBox company discovered the fake cases were being sold on Craigslist.
Investigators set up an undercover buy that took place at a location off Carowinds Boulevard in Fort Mill. From there the suspect cooperated with detectives and took him to his home where the majority of the counterfeit goods were located.
No charges have been filed against the 16-year-old boy at this time. His name was not released.
